Seifried Estate is a family owned winery and vineyard based in Nelson, New Zealand. It was founded by Herman Seifried and his wife Agnes in 1973, the family business is the South Islands oldest commercial vineyard, and Nelson largest.
Using grapes harvested from estate grown, ‘Sustainably Accredited’ (Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand - SWNZ) vineyards scattered throughout the Nelson region, this is now a second-generation wine producer, with siblings Heidi, Chris and Anna now working alongside their parents in various management positions within the family business.

"Really lovely bouquet with a citrus, mineral, quince and stone fruit attack followed by scents of hazelnut and mild toasty wood suggestions. Youthful, fresh and salivating on the palate with fruit and barrel flavours to reflect the nose, fine woods tannins , medium+ acidity an lengthy finish. Quietly complex, dry and lengthy. Best drinking from mid to late 2022 through 2028+."

"Aromas of baked apple and fresh pear, some white spice and yeasty lee autolysis. Fresh youthful and enticing bouquet. Crisp and refreshing on the palate, flavours dance across the palate with help of acidity adding crunch as well. Medium weight in a just dry style, fleshy, fruity, balanced and well made. Drink now and through 2024."

"A captivating bouquet of toasty French barrel smoke with clove and vanilla, then pinosity markers of dark cherry and roses, spicy plum and moments of silty mineral soils. Flavours on the palate reflect the nose with a seam of savoury dried herb adding complexity. Moderate tannins with a gently firm youthful texture, a core of fruit with contrasting acidity, moderate oak level. Balanced and well-made and ready to drink from late 2021 or early 2022 and through 2026+."

In the blink of an eye Vintage 2021 is behind us. Now the big job of blending, putting to barrel the Chardonnays and red wines, and preparing the new wines for bottling and release.
