Aotea Nelson Méthode Traditionnelle: "Bright straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of gold, pale on the rim with a vigorous bead of moderately fine bubbles. The nose is elegantly concentrated with good depth and intensity of white and yellow stonefruits, and white floral elements entwined with complexing brioche and yeasty autolysis." 4 Stars

Südinsel. Für den Sauvignon blanc ist Neuseeland bekannt. Und manch eine Flasche landet im heimischen Handel. Hinter dieser Entwicklung steht auch das Werk eines Österreichers, der früh in Nelson auspflanzte.

Nelson's oldest wine estate has celebrated its 40th anniversary in sparkling style!  

Seifried Estate, with its beautiful wooden building surrounded by more than 250 hectares of vineyards, was started by wine industry pioneers Hermann and Agnes Seifried in 1973, when they planted their first grapes in the Moutere Valley near Nelson. They made their first wine in 1976.

Seifried Estate was awarded ‘Best Sauvignon Blanc’ with a 98 point review from the judges and a Double-Gold medal at this year’s San Francisco International Wine Competition (SFIWC) for their Old Coach Road Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2015.  Seifried was also awarded ‘Best Late Harvest White’, with a 94 point Double-Gold medal for their Seifried Winemakers Collection Sweet Agnes Riesling 2015.

Two best in classwines at an international wine competition is the perfect way to celebrate 2016 for this pioneering family winery in a year that marks forty years since their very first vintage.

Our beautiful, single vineyard Aotea by Seifried Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2015 has taken out the Regional Trophy at the International Wine Challenge 2016. Four gold medals and a trophy for this vintage, wonderful news!
