12 New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs to Beat the Winter Blues

Yet another fantastic review of our very own Seifried Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2017.

Wine Spectator has published its best picks with our Seifried Sauvignon Blanc being a highlight of the tasting.

“One of the top scorers here is from Seifried, a winery located in the lesser-known Nelson appellation on the northern tip of the South Island, just west of Marlborough. The region has the highest sunshine hours in all of New Zealand. Farther inland, mountain ranges to the east, south and west provide shelter for the valleys and benchlands, while the northern areas benefit from a more maritime climate. The summers are warm and relatively dry and the nights cool.
Seifried pulls from two vineyard sources to make this complex and juicy white. One is just 10 miles from the coast, adding liveliness to the wine, while the other is sheltered from the coast, with stony soils yielding riper fruit.”

Seifried Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2017 - Score: 90

“Complex, with toasted hay and honeysuckle notes that mingle with a whiff of smoke up front, giving way to succulent apricot, dried pineapple and tangerine flavors. Juicy and refreshing. Drink now. 2,000 cases imported”
