Four Gold Medals for first-time entrants Seifried Estate at the Berliner Wein Trophy 2015 in Germany

The Berliner Wein Trophy debuted in 1994 and has attracted entries from around the world, however this was the first year that family-run Seifried Estate winery has entered. Along with their three Estate grown Sauvignon Blanc entries: Aotea by Seifried Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2015, Seifried Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2015, and Old Coach Road Nelson Sauvignon 2015, the winery’s flagship dessert wine Seifried Winemakers Collection Nelson Sweet Agnes Riesling 2015 also received Gold.

Winemaker, Chris Seifried, says “in 2014, each of these wines won gold medals at various wine competitions around the world, so it is really encouraging to see our 2015 vintages are following on this success. To receive recognition across the three tiers of Sauvignon Blanc reinforces our belief that although a small grape growing region, Nelson’s climate and the talent for crafting world class wine is clear. We are so proud to be recognised for the hard work our very focused team has contributed to these wines. ”
