The Vineyard

The 2022 Old Coach Road Riesling is from our Edens Road vineyard. is vineyard is situated 15 km from the coast and is sheltered from the south by the Richmond ranges. The ‘soil’ is a combination of rocks and boulders, which is very hard on the farm equipment but vital for holding the warmth of Nelson’s sun and for ripening grapes.

Winemakers Note

Fruit was harvested, pressed and cool fermented. The Riesling had its ferment stopped just before dryness to bring a slight natural residual sweetness to the wine.

Tasting Note

The 2022 Old Coach Road Riesling is so inviting on the nose. It has floral and citrus notes wrapped around a beautifully concentrated palate. Gentle fruit sweetness leaves an off-dry finish (13.3 g/L) to balance lovely natural acidity.
